Hotel Security Worldwide

The «A la carte»

Security Checklist

 printable check-list

This checklist is the result of a comparison of various checklists used by large international companies which organize congresses, seminars, conventions, etc. These various checklists were reviewed and evaluated by specialists in security and safety in hotels and congress centers, by tour operators, tour associations, etc. Our readers are kindly invited to complete this checklist by offering suggestions for improvement. In this way we will be able to perfect and update it in the coming issues of our Guide Magazine for the benefit of all concerned. We believe that the checklist will constitute a valuable working tool and reference for the immediate and distant future. By means of it, you will be able to work out an «à la carte» security and safety checklist which can be adopted to the specific congresses, seminars or other events which your clients and collaborators have in mind.

We all know that safety requirements, for example, differ widely according to the situation, even in the case of fire safety. They are not the same for a motel as for a skyscraper. Regarding security, tight controls on access are exercised for certain congresses and seminars, involving security guards and so forth. A congress of diamond merchants would certainly need special security installations, such as vaults and safes, whereas a congress of physicians would not.

By using the checklist devised by Tourism Hotel Security Worldwide, organizers of congresses, conventions, seminars, travel agents and specialized tour operators will be able to work out the safety and security needs of their clients so to speak «à la carte». Prices will vary, naturally, according to the services required.

However, it is better to talk about this beforehand than afterwards.

For your next congress or business trip you are invited to make a photocopy of our checklist, marking the items which interest you, and to fax the marked copy to hotels and congress centers in cities where you are planning to stay.

If the result is negative, you may find it advisable to change the place or country: however (and we think you will agree with this admonition which we are about to make):

Never get yourself in a position where you will be

-  morally liable or

-  financially liable

for having failed to take these elementary precautions. Of these two liabilities, perhaps the heaviest is the moral one.

Working as a team, we would like to promote hotels and congress centers which consider your security and safety to be at least as important as quality of service, comfort and hygiene. In this joint effort, airlines and other transport media will also participate.

You are invited to send us accounts of your positive and negative experiences, which we will be pleased to include in our readers' mail section in accordance with their general interest and pertinence as far as our readership is concerned. In this way we can share experiences for the benefit at all.
