The primary vocation of the Centre d’Etudes Biologiques de Chizé (CEBC) is to understand how species adapt – or disappear – in the face of natural changes, or those induced by man’s use of nature. Our study models are vertebrates, reptiles, birds, mammals, terrestrial and marine.

Our research, as fundamental as it is, makes an important contribution to tomorrow’s environmental solutions and protective measures. The CEBC’s international scientific reputation is the result of a collective effort.
